An SR-22 is a notice of financial responsibility, provided by your insurance company, required by the state when your license is suspended.
A license suspension can be imposed for many reasons including no insurance tickets, accidents, DWIs or drug violations. It is very important that you keep your policy active for the entire time period the state has required, usually between 3 months and 2 years.
